Activities at Magnolia New Albany are coordinated and led by a full-time activity director. These activities are designed to provide residents a lot of fun and enjoyment.

When planning activities, we do keep in mind that some of those that are the most fun can also be very beneficial in terms of mind stimulation, emotional enrichment, and social interaction with others. Arts & crafts, board games, singing groups and bingo, a resident favorite, are just a few of the many daily activities to keep folks entertained at Magnolia New Albany. Events and activities are posted on the calendar to allow residents to choose what events they wish to participate in and then plan accordingly.

Numerous studies have proven that seniors who stay active and interact with others are happier, healthier and are more content. At Magnolia New Albany we not only encourage residents to participate in activities, but provide a wide variety so there’s something for everyone.

Magnolia New Albany is also very excited about adding activities encouraged by the American Alzheimer’s Association that promote mind stimulation and memory enhancement. These were recently implemented at Harmony Place, a sister Hickory Senior Living Residence in Tupelo that is equipped and staffed exclusively to provide advanced memory care services.

Most residents at Magnolia New Albany have been lifelong churchgoers and we think it is important for their well being to continue after moving in. Magnolia New Albany works with area churches to have on-site church services each week. The services last about an hour and usually consist of singing, Bible readings, and a sermon. Although we don’t provide transportation to local church services, if a resident wishes to attend a Church that provides pickup and drop-off services we are happy to assist the resident coordinating logistics. Some residents also get together informally and enjoy Scripture readings.
